Ships were banned from setting sail from most ports in Greece on Thursday due to strong winds reaching up to 10 on the Beaufort scale in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea.
All scheduled departures from the ports of Rafina and Lavrio were cancelled. Port authorities have issued sailing bans for the ports of Zakynthos, Kyllini, Cephalonia, Corfu.
Piraeus port authorities did not allow the sailing of “Blue Star 2” at 07:25 and the “Blue Star Paros” at 07.30, both bound for the Aegean islands.
Ferry services in the Saronic Gulf were running normally.
