Movement for Change founding conference ends with unveiling of new logo

The founding conference of the new centre-left political party Movement For Change (MFC) concluded with a speech by its leader Fofi Gennimata and the presentation of the party logo – a multi-coloured rose with red, blue and green petals.
In a vote held at the end of the conference on Saturday night, the delegates had approved its founding proclamation, charter and policy platform, as well as organisational issues, such as the composition of the Central Committee.
During the final address at the conference, Gennimata addressed a general invitation to the “progressive forces in society” and underlined the centre-left had to understand that the middle classes were the “backbone” of social and economic life and support healthy entrepreneurship, while being aware of the difficulties and concerns of the jobless, farmers, wage earners and young people.
She ended by saying that Greece was now effectively entering a pre-election period the MFC must be ready for elections whenever these take place “whether this is tomorrow morning, the autumn or in May 2019.”
Gennimata also responded to invitations for cooperation extended on Saturday by the government Vice President Yiannis Dragasakis, on behalf of SYRIZA, and main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, saying that the “had failed to convince” and that their call came too late.
“If they had believed in it and done it at the start of the crisis, things in the country and for the citizens would now be different,” she said.
