Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras aims at deepening the joint Cyprus-Greece strategy to promote the two countries as European pillars of security and stability in the region, according to statements he made to Cypriot journalists who participated in a European Commission mission to Athens.
In statements published in “Phileleftheros” and “Simerini”, Tsipras said efforts will concentrate on trilateral cooperation with neighboring countries, such as Egypt, Israel and Jordan.
Asked about the Cyprus issue, he said Greece is always on Cyprus side, seeking a sustainable and fair solution to the problem and expressed his support for a restart of talks.
He also said his cooperation with re-elected President Nicos Anastasiadeshas been one of the most productive between the countries.
