Greece is slowly returning to normalcy, and looks forward to setting out its own strategy for growth, in agreement with its creditors, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said in an interview to the Belgian newspaper De Tijd.
Tsipras told the Dutch-language newspaper that Greece has built a relationship of trust with its partners and does not want to jeopardise it by spending more or to undo the government’s successes.
The Greek premier mentioned that it was necessary to raise some wages in order to restore inequalities, but would do so only after agreement with its creditors. The country’s priority is still focused on job creation, he added, reducing further the unemployment numbers.
