The three tunnels at Tempi Valley, a major pass in Thessaly, will shut down for maintenance from Tuesday (Jan. 16) to Friday (Jan. 19), and from Monday (Jan. 22) to Thursday (Jan. 25), the managing company announced on Tuesday.
According to Aegean Motorway SA, work will include the upgrading of the tunnels’ electronic systems.
The highway section between Evangelismos and Leptokarya will also be shut down in both directions.
The shutdowns will begin at 22:00 and end at 06:00 on the specified days, and traffic to Athens and Thessaloniki will be redirected to the old Athens-Thessaloniki National Highway, through the Tempi Valley.
