Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday accepted Deputy Education Minister Constantinos Zouraris’ resignation.
The resignation, submitted on Sunday, came after the former deputy minister spoke disparagingly about two popular soccer clubs on radio.
Education Minister Costas Gavroglou is to take over the portfolio of the former deputy education minister, following his departure.
According to sources, after the voting of the omnibus bill in parliament late on Monday, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with Zouraris in his office in parliament. The same sources said that the meeting went smoothly and Tsipras decided to accept Zouraris’ resignation.
