The plenum of the Council of State will discuss the injunction filed by four TV broadcasters against the government’s television licensing procedure on January 10, its president Nikolaos Sakellariou said on Monday.
ANT1, Alpha, Star and SKAI are asking the court to freeze the tender procedure launched to auction off seven nationwide television licenses at a starting price of 35 million euros each, as well as two decisions by Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas relating to the tender.
The lawyers of the TV channels claim the entire legal framework of the tender is unconstitutional and in conflict with European and Greek legislation.
The case will be heard at 10:30, in a closed-door session.
