Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis said the existing legislative framework for granting asylum needs to be accelerated, according to an interview in newspaper RealNews on Saturday.
Kontonis said the asylum procedure should be completed quickly. “Cases should not remain pending at an administrative or judicial level causing insecurity and problems first and foremost to the asylum seekers,” he was quoted as saying.
