The message that Greek banks have improved and that depositors need to be convinced to return their deposits after the successful results of the stress tests was sent by Daniele Nouy, the Chair of the Supervisory Board at the European Central Bank on Tuesday.
“Greek banks did well during these stress tests and some were tough ones. The situation of Greek banks has improved. We hope that depositors will be convinced and take back their deposits,” she told Alpha TV.
“Obviously the key moment will be what happens at the end of the program which is coming soon and whether the government is committed to the reforms. The government published a plan last year on the road map. I think it is a good plan. It has to be executed,” she said.
