Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with volunteers and citizens of Athens on Sunday that gathered for the event “Elpidos 2030” and was briefed on the work of 25 organisations from all over Europe that present their work on social, environmental protection, equal rights and promotion of international justice and growth.
In a statement Mitsotakis underlined the need the 17 targets of sustainable growth set by the United Nations on the abolition of extreme poverty, social inequalities and climate change to become part of the implemented policy.
“We must raise the citizens of Athens awareness on sustainable growth” said Mitsotakis adding that “The sustainable growth is a policy that concerns us all”.
The event is coordinated by ActionAid, the Victoria Square Project and the Greek Platform for Sustainable Growth. The whole initiative is part of the World Human Forum’s action.
