The European Commission is working hard for the successful conclusion of the Greek program in the summer, the Commission’s spokesman Margaritis Schinas stated on Thursday.
During his briefing to the press, Schinas was asked to comment on articles referring to a possible extension of the Greek program but noted that the Commission “is not good on hypotheticals” and prepares to work with facts. “What I can say is that here in the Commission we remain focused on working with our partners to build on the good progress made in recent months to ensure a successful conclusion of the Greek program this summer,” he said.
Schinas confirmed that European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has been invited to address the Greek parliament on April 26, saying that “the President considers it a great privilege that he was invited to address the Greek Parliament.”
