Wage employment in the private sector grew in March, recording the best performance since 2001, the Labour ministry said in a report released on Wednesday.
The report by the “Ergani” IT system, said that the balance of hirings/dismissals in March was positive by 55,494 new job positions as new hirings totaled 196,142 and dismissals totaled 140,648. In the three-month period from January to March, the balance of hirings/dismissals was positive by 55,580 job positions, the best performance since 2001. New hirings totaled 500,363 and dismisssals totaled 444,783 in the first quarter.
In the same period last year, the balance was positive by 33,638 job positions.
