Both sides win with an ‘honourable compromise’, says Kotzias in Skopje

Greece believes in an “honourable compromise” from which both sides will win, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said during a joint press conference with his FYROM counterpart Nikola Dimitrov in Skopje.

“You cannot get everything you have in your mind,” he said, following lengthy talks with Dimitrov, as efforts to find a mutually acceptable solution to the name dispute intensify.

Kotzias said relations between the two countries must follow the very good relations between the two people, presenting as an example the thousands of citizens from FYROM who visit Greece every year for holidays.

After his talks with Dimitrov, the minister will visit the Secretariat for European Affairs, where he will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani, and then he will be received by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.

At 13:00, Kotzias and the Greek delegation will attend a reception of the Greek Liaison Office in Skopje, for the March 25 celebrations.

At 15:30, the minister has planned meetings with the head of parliament, Talat Jaferi, and the leader of the Albanian party DUI, Ali Ahmeti, and shortly after 17:00, he will meet with the head of the main opposition VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickovski.
