The next steps for Greece’s exit from its adjustment program and the period that will follow were the sole topics discussed in Wednesday?s meeting of SYRIZA?s political council, chaired by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
According to party sources, today’s discussion is the first of a series that will focus on the comprehensive planning for the period that includes the exit from the program and the months after that. A crucial milestone will be presenting the government’s growth strategy to its creditors, which is expected to take place around the end of April.
The government’s and SYRIZA’s priorities focus primarily on completing the fourth program review and preparing the growth plan, taking into account the aim for a fair and sustainable recovery and to lessen the burden on the middle and lower-income earners.
