The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is working to secure a positive outcome for the Greek debt which will allow it to participate in the country’s program, Fund spokesperson Gerry Rice said on Thursday during a regular press briefing in Washington.
Rice said the IMF is focusing on how to activate the program it has approved in principle, which implies progress in reforms and on debt. These will be the two main issues in the discussions, the IMF official said.
He also noted that so far there is no date for the completion of debt talks, the return of the mission or for when the Fund will publish its views.
